The Read House Hotel

Loved the values of this hotel it oozes historical charm but at the same time has a very high standard of quality and facilities. The staff are amazing and the settings means that you can access all that the area has to offer. Indoor pool is a bonus and the bar in the evening is both lively and fun.

This property is stunning. It really does feel like stepping back in time. So much detail, it is beautiful. The staff are fantastic. Someone in our travelling party had an issue with their room being too close to the lift, which was a bit noisy and they moved both of us to upgraded rooms. Pro tip- request a room away from the lift!! It was handled so quickly though. We did the tour of room 311 and the man who took us there was great! They really do a good job. Super handy with Starbucks downstairs, a restaurant and a bar with lighter meals.

The building itself is very pretty, the interior is absolutely beautiful and leans completely into the theme they are going for. It's well decorated and well presented. The staff is friendly and very accommodating for any requests. The food was good and the bar was pretty cool, did not try the pool but the pool area was really well kept.

There’s a lot of allure to the Read House. When researching where to stay for a business trip, the photos online stand out and I was curious to explore this hotel. They have a beautiful lobby, ball rooms and hallways. My room was very spacious and quiet. The parking valet was quick and convenient. That being said, I want to end this on a good note. The restaurant is very nice and classy. Alan, the bartender is a wonder of the world. He was full of great stories and service. Coming here to see him makes it all worth it. It was nice to have a warm pool as an option and an operating gym in a historic hotel, which isn’t common. Definitely a good 4/5 in my experience but I imagine others would definitely give a 5/5. We loved the decor, classy but modern. The history was intriguing. The beds were amazing...so comfortable and the pillows were equally plush. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We dined at Bridgemans and it was superb and convenient. We leveraged the Starbucks for breakfast. My girls enjoyed the pool one evening...a big plus. And lastly we required assistance to and from our room because we were traveling with my elderly mother. The valet staff were so helpful and quick to help with luggage and retrieve the car. We will stay here again and recommend to friends and family.
